Об альбоме (сборнике)

At their very best, solo piano performances tend to be very personal, intimate expressions. So, too, are the recordings that document them. Time Within Time, a solo performance by the prolific Marc Copland, seems even more personal than the norm, a very revealing peek into the music that inspires and motivates this impressionistic piano master. Copland opens and closes the disc with two versions of Leonard Bernstein's Some Other Time, both in C major, and then adds a third version in G midway through the disc. This was a tune Bill Evans also played, and the connections between Copland and Evans are clear, but especially so on this atmospheric recording, made in a Zurich studio last year. Copland also interprets Miles Davis' All Blues, Wayne Shorter's Footprints and John Lewis' Django and adds several original compositions. Copland says this recording means a lot to him, and that becomes obvious, even on the first listen.
